PROFILE

WRITING PROFILE 

I am a freelance writer, critic, and editor with interests in modern art and literature. I also write about music, theatre, photography, design, and more.

 

Current and past freelance employers include Aesthetica, Artforum, ArtReview, Art Monthly, Art UK, British Journal of Photography, Burlington, Burlington Contemporary, Caught by the River, The List, The Little Sparta Trust, MAP, PMC Notes, PN Review, The Quietus, Scottish Art News, and the Scottish Poetry Library. My book Border Blurs: Concrete Poetry in England and Scotland was published by Liverpool University Press in 2019. 

I hold an NCTJ qualification in magazine journalism from Harlow College and I am a former British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow. I have a PhD in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, an MPhil in Culture and Criticism from the University of Cambridge, and a BA in English Literature from the University of Sussex.
